raw questions
Thank you in advance for helping with a bizillion questions
So far I am able to source:
Chicken backs (with fat)
Chicken necks
Chicken feet
Cow heels
Dirty tripe
Clean tripe
Chicken liver
Beef liver
Ox tongues
Sheep heads
Ox hearts
Ox kidneys
Spleen
Pigs heads
various bones and ribs, of course
What is the difference between clean and dirty tripe?
Is there anything on the list I should rather not feed?
When it comes to fish, my questions were answered earlier. I may stay away from tuna as this hasn't agreed with them in the past. A bit of salmon, mackaral, sardines, hake etc should be fine, right?
Supplement-wise, is it necessary to add anything else, for example, olive oil, ACV, honey, omega 3, vitamins etc?
Thanks!!

Re: raw questions
everything on the list i'd feed it's a good variety!
With tripe you want green unwashed tripe which i assume would be the dirty tripe, clean tripe tends to be washed and bleached for human consumption which has no nutrition value for dogs.
With salmon do make sure it's not from the pacific northwest as that can contain parasites else where is good
No you don't NEED to supplement and certainly not when just starting out get the diet going first before you think about it.
Have you looked at the guide at the top of this page
www.preymodelraw.com
don't forget to take it slowly when starting out

Re: raw questions
Thanks a mill Ella.
Yes, I've read the link and anything else I can get my hands on. I want to be as clued up as possible before I even make my first purchase! (in bulk, of course)
Good to know about the tripe - I've seen that green is more easily available which is great.
Thanks for the tip re: supplements. And definitely will take it slow starting out. That said, I just know they're going to go mad for it

Re: raw questions
Wow, it's great to hear the options!
I'm looking forward to my pups being able to eat easily digestible food. I can literally hear there tummy's struggling to digest kibble.

I give Saffy tinned sardines or mackerel usually as I can get them from the 99p shop but I will give any fresh whole oily fish that I can get cheap to be honest. It's worth looking for reduced stuff Although I don't give her the tinned more than 2x week as it can/has given her looser stools ( ) in the past (Has extra oils I guess). And I also, like yourself, don't give canned tuna as it has none of the lovely oils in it like salmon/sardines etc. but fresh tuna is good
