Re: Homeless Staffs
I'm still not sure whether these work or not. Mind you, anything's worth a try!

Re: Homeless Staffs
When we were fostering we had to put a coat on him when out walking, saying he needed a home - got some strange looks but nobody asked about him - just as well because we adopted him in the end.

I'm not sure if they work either, but I think anything should be tried like caryll said to help them find their forever home

Re: Homeless Staffs
I think its 'hit and miss' with these colour coded harness'.
I have the friendly one, we still have people avoid us but weve also had people approach us becasuse they've read the harness and commented on how good they are.
Anythings worth a try

Re: Homeless Staffs
I guess it's bringing more awareness to them, the collars and the stray dog problem.

Re: Homeless Staffs
It's a good idea in principle, but for colour coding to work people need to be aware of the significance or they will just see a dog on a green/yellow/red lead. If the word spreads then fantastic.

Re: Homeless Staffs
I like the coat idea saying they need rehommed. Allot of volunteers walk rescue dogs but when out look no different to someone walking their pet. So while out and about with loads of passer bys its a great way to advertise. Most people fall in love with the animal once they see it, half the battle is just getting them to look in the 1st place and this helps that

Re: Homeless Staffs
What shocked me about this story is that it said 90% of the strays were Staffies.
The good news is that they also say that "the status effect has worn off" so hopefully that will mean more responsible breeding for the future.
