do you know anyone famous?

In any sort of field?

Just a pointless thread but i turned the telly on yesterday and Rebecca Adlington the olympic swimmer (if you don't no who she is) was on a league of there own.

Now most people don't no but i went to school with becky and she was in the year above me, but our form rooms were next door so i saw her alllllllll the time!

Anyone else have anyone they know thats now famous?

Havent met her so it may not count! but Toyah Wilcox is a relation to me. As I say dont know if that counts.

I know a girl from Eastenders.

I used to knock about with Jack Rodwell, the Everton player, back in my teens when a group of us used to hang around in town like cool kids

Actually saying that my cousin trains race horse's, trainer is Mick Channon and when he got married Cilla Black was there and Kevin Keegan was the best man

I used to know someone who was famous but sadly he is dead now. You will never have heard of him, his name was George O'Dell and in 1977 he was the world champion motorbike and sidecar racer. I love this photo of him:

I used to work with a guy who left the company to become a professional footballer, until his career was ended by two broken legs in rapid succession.

And my nephew's wife's mother was a high-profile MP at one time.

How'd he break his legs?

In football matches Eleanor. Bad tackles. He'd only just returned to the game after his leg healed, when a tackle caused it to break again - apparently everyone in the stadium heard it go.

No but when my dad worked in the safari park he'd talk to Jeremy Kyle, Johnny Vegas and Michael Owen. We saw Michael Owen and my friends casually tried to stalk him around the place before they got bored

When I got out of the army, I did some bodyguarding work for a bit and met a few so-called celebrities, but nobody particularly noteworthy. When I was a kid, my mum ran a nursing home in Nottinghamshire and a one of her residents was Brian Laws' mum (ex Forest player) and he used to play football with me in the grounds

I don't know any, boring!! Have met a couple but no-one really famous!!

I don't know anyone properly famous sadly. A few friends that have had their bands signed etc, but not exactly well known.

But I saw Eamonn Holmes at the airport once, asked him did he want to come for a pint and he gave me the filthiest look you could possibly imagine

Don't know any as such but met and spoke to Johnny Vegas in a Mcdonalds in Sheffield and Nick knowles in a co-op.

A garage I usee to work in had a few famous people come in for work done, Jane Mcdonald from loose women came in a few times, Billy Connoly and there was one who's name I forget but I recognised him from his voice, was a black guy who played the part of the shoplifter in an episode of only fools and horses and played one of the gangsters in either snatch or lock stock.

I was taught English by a very famous singer.. Sting! Met loads of famous people.. Rod Stewart has seen me in my dressing gown. I was in hospital awaiting an opp and his sister Peggy happened to be in the same ward as me..

She lives just down the road from me , a couple of years back I wasnt lookin where I was goin in town and knocked her flyin .. she is absolutley tiny tho to be fare and she was fine about it

When I was in the forestry, I used to drink in the same pub as Rob Plant (our depot was half a mile away from one of his house's), and my bro has done plumbing work on a some other properties of his .. nice chap

Yeh Rob Plant has a house near here too or at least he used to. The salon where I worked years ago we had his pics up as he was a friend of my boss. Toyah is tiny then again so am I!!
