Unexpected season
When we got Cassie last week the people said it was a month since her last season, well, that was not true as she has started bleeding today!
She is booked in to be spayed next week, which I will now have to cancel.
How long is she likely to bleed for? and is there anyway i can make her feel a bit better, she is feeling rather sorry for herself!

Re: Unexpected season
She could still be having her season, some can be split and almost irregular like a humans.
You'll have to wait a few months now, usually 3 but your vet can advise

Re: Unexpected season
The vet told us at least 10 weeks after they stop bleeding.

Re: Unexpected season
Your vet will advise the best time. I've heard some say 10 weeks after the end of a season, some say 10 weeks after the start of the season, some say 3 months (either from the start or the end of the season)!
Not much you can do to make her feel better, but you might want to invest in some hygiene pants!

Re: Unexpected season
normally round about 2 weeks of actual bleeding and 2 weeks of build up (sulking , swollen bits etc and maybe a littel spotting)
We were told halfway between seasons so around 3 months so that all her organs are nice and settled. If she turns out to be very irregular with her seasons then the vet can reassess the situation
