Random question Empty Random question

Post by Nathan Sat Apr 13 2013, 22:47

I get some right ole weird txt's sometime from people I know with dogs but this one stumped me...its quite random and franckly I have no idea how to answer lol. At first I thought what are you on and why did you ask me that and then I thought...hmmm whats the answer???

So sitting at home with the pooches watching TV after a nice walk and I get the following message...

"why is dog saliva sticky"

all i could muster was a responce "well done for the most random question of the night"

Now "I" need to know why sodding dog saliva is sticky, protein, enzimes ??? whats your views? put me out of my misery Surprised

No googling! I need a answer that is just as random as the question Big Grin

No idea really but my guess would be to help them in eating and digestion so some sort of extra enzyme?

I would say dogs saliva is more slimy than sticky, this is to help break down the food before digestion just a guess really.

It's slimy for a very good reason.

Dogs can't actually chew the food into a mush (they way we do) which makes it easy to swallow, so their saliva is very slimy so that it lines their throat to make the larger/harder chunks of their food to slip down their throats easily.
