hello, first time post
Hello all,
I have joined this forum after looking at some of the fab advice available here and on your facebook page for a few weeks. It has been a bit addictive to look at all those wonderful photo's!
So here goes my first post.
I currently have two dogs, both rescues, Caspa a Parsons Jack Russell who my husband and I collected two days after our honeymoon, we had seen him locally, he had the remnants of a shock collar still attached to his collar and his current owners claimed he would be put to sleep because they could not cope with him anymore (yes we know this is the wrong way to do things). He is copletely deaf (not just pretending like my staff sometimes) and has some very typical terrier issues, has no fear, and is too clever for his own good. Within a week of getting him he had got up to the bedroom, undone the bedroom door and jumped out of a first floor window to chase our chickens! (we now have locks everywhere!). He has had some aggression/frustration issues but with some hard work, specialist training and a lot of love he has become a typical know-it-all number 1 child (ahem I mean dog!).

And my second bundle of joy is Alfie, he is the reason I first found this forum for some advice on his skin. He is appx 20 months old, and was rescued from Birmingham dogs home Christmas 2011 as a small and skinny little thing, he gained a kilo a week for the first few weeks and has grown into a bit of a gentle giant, with almost no brains! He has had his fair share of trouble including getting a whole packet of ibuprofen of the kitchen side and ending up being rushed to the vets to be put on dialysis, which saved his life! He is a complete softy, wants to be friends with everyone and the first dog to run away from trouble, despite people's misconceptions about him! He is well trained and despite this we have had people ask in the past few weeks why we let such a dangerous dog like Alfie walk off lead!

It is nice to see a Staffy forum that really is giving a positive image of the breed! Well done guys.

Welcome wow, they sound like they keep you busy! Hard work, but no doubt very rewarding, and they're both beautiful, Alfie's colour is like Loki's so I of course have a soft spot for him

Re: hello, first time post
Hi guys, I was unsure if I had actually managed to upload the pics but obviously they worked. Going to try experimenting with photobucket too and see how we get on.
I obviously love them both, they have turned into lovely dogs, they didn't even grumble when I fostered a third dog for 10 days after a stray wandered into my place of work.
My only problem is trying not to look for a permanent third, I genuinely believe my life would only be enhanced by a little staffy bitch to balance out all the boys. But the hubby says not till we have a bigger house! I know he is right (though I would never say that to his face), but when the dog's homes in the Midlands are so full of great young staffy's its hard.

I love all rescue stories and always interested in how a person ends up adopting a Staffy (or any other kind of dog, for that matter). I love picture of Alfie sleeping.
