quick rant Empty quick rant

Post by Guest Tue Apr 09 2013, 08:15

A while ago I posted about us going out for dinner and someone complaining at like 20:30 about our two barking. Ours who seldom bark and us who seldom go out for a night...and we were back by 21:00 Blushing

Well, turns out it was the neighbours across from us whose 2 dogs bark constantly. Whose one use to get out of the gate himself and come and mark and poop at our gate. Whose two dogs NEVER leave the house and whose two dogs sleep outside and bark at the tiniest thing - I swear they sometimes bark at a fly! Once during a walk we walked passed them and they told their kids to "stay away from those dogs." One night they even left the one to howl from about 8pm to 8am...and they were home! Another time they drove off not checking that the dogs were inside. One was out and we phoned them to come and safely put her back in - anyone would've thought we were complaining. And these very neighbours who entertain a lot so happened to have a party on Saturday night and decided at 1:30am that is was a good idea to rev a motorbike and up the shouting over their music...........

Our neighbour right next door says she never hears Roxy and Vinny, and she's the one I'd expect to moan as they do sound rough playing - but that's during the day. If they do go out to toilet in the night they're straight back in - not out al night howling!!!

Well, tonight there is a monthly area meeting and boy will we be there. The OH who is usually very polite has said I'm not to say a word so he can get it all out....like to see him stop me!!!!!!!!

Hypocrites. There's a JRT on our street who barks 24/7. He's one of those dogs that's allowed to roam, and he barks at all the cars Laughing doesn't bother anyone though, it's become background noise. Nothing worse than neighbours complaining about something they let happen themselves Rolling Eyes

Stressful subject complaining about noise and trying to keep the peace yourself. Rocky doesn't bark overly, but we have kept quiet about a neighbours dog making loads of noise at all times of day and night. Still not sure how to handle this.

Never sure how to handle it. We like to keep to ourselves mostly so tend not to complain or get involved. But in this instance I feel we need to say something politely. The sad thing is, they have received complaints from two houses down about their's constantly barking and they assumed it was us and when they received the complaint they were quick to say it's "the staffies" and not ours.

I have a noisy neighbour at times, but it's hard to really do anything because I can be quite noisy myself too. Plus I know if I ever did anything it would come back to Logan as a few of the more grumpy people where I live don't really like him. I'd hate for there to be an arguement over it and then they resort to telling lies for example about my dog. Which is very possible with people.

Very possible, Mat! It's because of Roxy & Vinny that I'm reluctant to get involved, people can be very nasty about others.

I can be quite paranoid too, and I always have this thought of some scumbag throwing something poisonous/harmful to him. Especially if we'd have had an arguement about noise etc.

It's hard, but sometimes it's best to try and ignore people, even the most horrible/annoying ones.

That is exactly how I am feeling! The more the day goes on the more I'm inclined to keep quiet and continue keeping to myself!

The meeting went really well - everyone who attended was very passionate about how our two are the best behaved and quietest - very proud moment :)We were also complimented on how much time we put into walking them!

I also got put onto the board of trustees for the enclosed area -soooo I'd like to see the ignorant neighbours across the road complain now >Smile
