The hunt is on
On our 7am walk in the meadows this morning we disturbed part of the local Roe Deer herd. First time Bacchus has seen them up close and he gave chase. A little ambitious given his wee short legs, but he soon gave up. Still, good exercise.

Not keen on letting a dog chase animals, really (other than squirrels & such). They can get into all sorts of bother.

Logan is very strange in that he doesn't chase animals at all, he has been around a lot of different animals since he was very young and just likes to look at them

Loki's never seen a deer before, he likes chasing birds but can be told to leave them, and he's scared of foxes. Not sure what he'd be like. Silly Bacchus, deer are too fast for you

Moo loves to chase! The woods we walk in are vast and it certainly tires her out

Yes a deer, even a roe deer, can inflict some serious damage in kicking a dog which gets too close. But to be honest it was a fairly futile exercise on Bacchus's behalf and his effort was pretty half-hearted. There is no way he could get close to these very swift animals and, although our herd is fairly used to being in proximity to people and dogs, they are still very wary and keep a respectful distance. Some far more athletic breeds than Bacchus have tried and failed to get close.
