Re: Collars
Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and me.
Have you tried putting the collar and lead on while at home, just let the lead run behind him loose.

Re: Collars
Welcome is he a rescue or have you had him since he was a puppy? Have you tried putting it on him and distracting him (ie feeding him his meal while he's wearing it or playing with his favourite toy)?

Welcome to the forum from me and the Monster
Try getting a very lightweight collar and lead set, even from poundland and have him wear it around the house. Won't be substantial enough for going on walks but it'll get him used to the feel of it.
That's what I did with my fella

As Mat Says, bit of practice around the house works wonders but dont over do it. Most pups dislike the collar and lead at first, they soon get over it .

Re: Collars
I've had George from twelve weeks old and I have used all of his favourite things to help with the collar. He just gets hidden or runs,he's been like this from the start.I don't want to keep a collar on him all the time but looks like its the only way. Thanks to all for the welcome,Kath

Re: Collars
I'd start by leaving the collar on for 30 minutes and totally ignoring him. If he runs away & hides, let him. When he comes out make sure you give him a treat & lots of praise. Then just build up from there.
