First bite .
We arrived safe and sound to Poland. Debo was a star all the way. We got to my dad's place at night. Asked him to come out with his dog on the lead so Debo and his dog could meet. All went fine. Debo and I went in to the flat first. The dogs were fine in side,my dad's dog growl a bit every time Debo looked at him. But that was it. No contact. That dog growl at every one who even look at him. With time Debo learnt to avoid this dog. On second day Debo start to feel more comfy in my dad's flat. Today my OH took both dogs for a walk, he thought they will be better ,when they play for a while. They walked nicely on the lead. My OH took their leads of and my dad's dog went straight for Debo,Without worning. Grab his side and pulled some hair out. My OH called him back and put his lead back on. When that happen,Debo was really suprised, just looked at the dog and growl at him. The dog backed of. My OH put both dogs on the lead ,walk for bit more and let them off. My dad's dog did the same ,this time DEbo was faster ,faced the dog ,maked himself bigger, gave a very deep growl, like to say " Back off or...". At that point dogs heads were facing each others, touching. Debo didn't do any move except that growl. My OH wasn't sure what to do. He didn't want to make things worse, that could end up bad. He called Debo and my dad's dog backed off. BOth back on the lead and home. I'm hoping that it wont affect Debo. He's such a friendly dog. I need to say that I'm proud of his reaction.

Re: First bite .
Good of Debo not to react so badly, but looks like it's safer not to let them 'play' or ever be alone together.

Glad to hear your trip went well and you all arrived safely. Well done Debo.
Poor Debo, many dogs will see being stared at as a challenge and will take it the wrong way. Will you be living at this flat with your Dad are were you just visiting ?

Re: First bite .
I think it all is too much for both dogs. We have to stay with my dad for another 2 weeks. Tomorrow is firdt day when we gonna leave Debo in my dad's flat. We'll leave him in his cage.

Re: First bite .
I'm sure the stress of it all is making it hard for the both of them too, but things will be OK when you're in your own place. Hope it all goes well

Thanks, hope that too. Debo deals with the stress very good. It was one moment yesterday,we took him to the new flat. It's big mess there, builder, removal van arrived. We put Debo in his cage and was about to leave the flat to help unpacke our staff. He went mental. Calmed down as soon as he've seen that we were bak in the flat now and then. We took him today as well ,he was fine.

Re: First bite .
its a big change for both dogs and they are just weighing each other up. one is saying this is my home while debo is prob feeling a bit intimidated finding himself in unknown place with an unkown dog. both dogs need to see each owner fuss the other dog up as a grounding for "everything is safe" given time and patience on your part they could become quite good friends. dogs are very much creatures of habit and change is often greeted with caution.

Re: First bite .
They've me about 6mnths ago but it wasn't in my dad's place. They were fine then. Now we always make sure that they are not left alone together. Make fuss about both dogs. Maybe taking them for walks more often will help?

Re: First bite .
Today my OH took them again. And they were much better. Just once my dad's dog growl, they were doing their staff and suddenly Debo started to run like mad and my dad's dog didn't like it. He's like that with people as well, doesn't like quick movement.
