Joplin's weight.
Hi Guys,
Just back from the vet with Joplin I get her weight taken every
Month as her flea/worm treatment is monthly under 10kg
I was really hoping she would be over 10kg
But she weighed in at 9.2kg she is 5 months old
On 24th March. Is this weight ok? She eats fine I feed her James wellbeloved dry with half a pouch of James
Wellbeloved wet food through it twice daily- if I feed her more she will not eat it, shes not a greedy dog
Anyway, my question is is 9.2kg a healthy weight for an almost
5month old staffy bitch?
Thanks

Re: Joplin's weight.
As longs as the vet is happy and Joplin is happy and healthy then I wouldn't worry

Re: Joplin's weight.
They vary so much, Elmo was 9.8kg at 5 months. As long as she doesn't look underweight (and if she did then I'm sure you're vet would've said something) then she's fine

Re: Joplin's weight.
I just judge by looking at Tommy. He's 5 months old and about 12kg, however his sister is only 7kg. Both look very healthy and happy dogs, obviously bitches are going to be smaller than their male siblings. Tommy is raw fed and if he starts looking a bit skinny, I up his food a little. On the other hand if he's looking a bit tubby I cut back slightly.
Being puppies, their shape and size changes pretty much on a daily basis and every one of them is different. You know your dog better than anyone else so go with what you think. You should be able to feel her ribs but if they're visible then you need to increase her food.

Re: Joplin's weight.
She sounds a good weight. It's hard to know at that age though.
You are feeding a great quality food so she should be fine. As long as she's not obviously over/under weight I wouldn't worry.

So long as she looks healthy and it exercised and happy I wouldn't worry too much.

Re: Joplin's weight.
It certainly seems to vary, i weighed Katy last week & she was 13kg but she's quite tall (15" at the shoulder) but very slender

Re: Joplin's weight.
She is a smaller staffy and very fit and full of muscle. Thanks everyone.
She you can't see her Ribs but you can feel them, she will eat really well at
Feeding times but if you try and give her more she won't eat it, not a greedy wee thing.
Ill put a pic on as soon as I can figure out how. Any advice apreciated in that dept too.
Thanks guys.

Re: Joplin's weight.
There all different so it's so hard to say, daisy is 2 or maybe slightly younger and weights in just under 15 but she's a slender build, not sure what she's crossed with!!
