Dog head butting puppy ??

What does this mean ? Are staffy is a 2 year old male he is friendly , we have brought a new staffy puppy also a male its 7 weeks old and he is gettin on fine but the 2 year old keeps head butting him and nosing him is this ok it isnt hurting the puppy but it is annoying him . We have had the pup for 3 days ???

Never housed 2 together but its really early days!

Supervise and stand in when needed. Big changes take time.

If you see the puppy is getting annoyed just step in, if the puppy is not annoyed let it be:)
Your dog probably knows that the puppy is very young and is trying to e gentle, instead of jumping on him and things like that he uses his nose and head, but if the puppy is getting annoyed jut stop it so the puppy doesn't get afraid and what not.

This is harvey's trick to get chance to play he will proper full on head butt him and nose his ears

Roxy used to do this with Vinny. He it was kind of her way of initiating gentle play, but also a way of letting him know who's boss, if that makes sense. They didn't really seem to mean much by it, so I agree...butt in if the puppy's distressed otherwise leave them be.

Sounds like an invatation to play to me as well as asserting authority in a gentle manner. I wouldn't be overly concerned but do make sure to supervise their interaciton
