She finally went to bed
Hey Guys,
For the first time ever, since December 21st, Marley actually got up from a little power nap and walked her sleepy butt to her crate on her own. this is a big deal for us because usually she has to be directed to the crate o lifted and put in. she did it a couple of times yesterday. how does one praise for that? i dont want to give her the super excited praise and rile her up again especially if she is going to lay down. i really want her to know she did the right thing and keep up the good work.
thanks

Sometimes I find the best praise is no praise. In this instance where she is relaxed and content I'd be inclined to just leave her be. Because she is showing independance it's best to let her continue with it imo.
It's great to see though. Logan is becoming a lot more independant lately thankfully!

Yeah, I think no praise is needed. In this case it's her deciding to go to her crate on her own because she wants to go to sleep, so any praise would just excite her or disrupt the calmness. Took Loki ages before he did that, he still doesn't do it now unless he's completely ignored for like 10 minutes

I'd leave it be as well and just give her space. Most often this is a sign of being comfortable and becoming independant.

Same here just leave her to have some time alone in there. That is praise enough

she sure is janey, yesterday was a really good day, especially since we were pretty much stuck indoors, foul weather.
