how do you stop play biting

hi, my pup of 6 months called molly keeps going to bite everyones hands when the come in to my house and she gets realy hyper and does not listen to me.tho she listens to my boyfriend when he is home.

As soon as her teeth touch your hand say 'NO' in a firm voice and stop all interaction till she has calmed down. Once she has calmed down then give her gentle praise so you don't work her up again! She'll get the hint soon enough

Just wanted to let you know I am going through the exact same thing and the above post is excellent advise. I have been working with my 12 week old girl Gucci for about a week and she is slowly getting better. From what iam told it might take up to 3 weeks for them to get it , so don't despair it will get better. I tried the seperation method but it didn't seem to be working for me because when I opened the door I found her Havi g the time of her life playing with the toilet paper roll ; ) but lots of people have had success with this method so it's just about finding what works for you and sticking with it. I know how frustrating it can be but just keep the faith and stick with it

Im having trouble with this too- he only does it with me though the little beggar!

I used to use a very high pitched squeel and a lot of perseverance!

its just one of the many stages our babies got through, so its all normal just deal with each problem as they come

Are you involved in feeding, walking and training her? Also she could be teething so is trying to alleviate pain. Frozen treats are a great help with this

with marley yipping and pulling away worked well although my neighbours must have thought id gone nuts, ultimatley it took 30 seconds locked in the loo to cure him outright. with laska however it excited her even more and trying the toilet trick just got me a face that sank my heart and made me feel like some evil dictator. with her a firm no and look in the eyes worked a treat as she is a more "i lurrrve you" kinda dog and hated not pleaseing. best wishes, try all the methods and youll find your dogs sweet spot which will hepl with future training

The link says it all, consistency is key. Be patient, it took us about 2 weeks before we saw results, now when we say ow, she licks our hands lol. It does work.
