Hope the poor wee soul and family are ok. Just when you think everything has quietened down about staffies this happens.

Its a shame they never publish the actions of people leading up to incidents like this. It would be nice to know. I hope the little boy will be ok and not grow to hate dogs! Bad day for staffys.
What would happen in this situation as i have always thought if your dog is on a lead, its under control?

Its strange that the dog was on a lead and still managed to get to the boy, If i thought my dog was at all likely to attack someone i wouldn't be walking it anywhere near people, especially children.
Its always hard to judge, as like you say, they never really give you much information as to what happened before the attack.

I can only think that the boy either surprised the dog or approached it when he shouldn't. I know that doesn't excuse what happened, but it's the only explanation I can come up with.
Surely, though, if the dog's a little dodgy with people it should have been muzzled, especially near a school.

That's why I wonder if the boy surprised the dog. He might have come up behind it & been a bit too heavy handed. Just clutching at straws really.
