Thank you for posting this. I live in a village to the south of Bristol and know this to be true. Last Sunday I had a text from a friend in a nearby village to warn me that her neighbours dog had been taken. Word is that they are being used either for bait for fighting or for badger culling.

Whatever the reason it is a very sad situation. I never leave my boy unattended anyway, but I am being extra careful.

Anyone who takes dogs for baiting/fighting should be shot in the face. HARSH, but FAIR.

Sadly theft of pets in on the increase, we all need to be extra vigilant and keep a close eye on where our little friends are all the time.

Dog Dog Thefts in the West of England

Post by George ITV Fri Apr 05 2013, 13:18

Hiya, my name's George Zielinski and I work for ITV West and West Country. We're looking to do a story on the rise of dog thefts in the West of England and it'd be great to speak to someone affected by dog napping in that region. Do please get in touch if you've got any information. Cheers!

Dog Re: Dog thefts in bristol area

This is disgusting and dispicable! I keep hearing these horrific stories of dog theft and it makes me so on edge!

I worry all the time about my boy and am so protective of him. If anything like this happened to him I would be beside myself, I just can't imagine and don't want to imagine what it must be like to have my baby fall into the hands of some rotten, evil people. Sad

What has the world come to to have to worry about walking your dog or having to keep an eye on them at all times whilst they are in your own back yard??!!

The police need to come down hard on this but they don't seem to take it very seriously at all.

Our dogs are our family... they are not just pets!! Love Struck
