Male+Female = puppie color

Im used with Rottweiler's color which dont vary really. What about bull terriers (minis) ? I tried the search option up here but could not find what im looking for.

Lets say both male+femal are white, does it means puppies gonna be white ?
White + tricolor = only white and tricolor or could give bringe too ?

Colour genetics are very complex. They depend on the parents and the grand parents and the dominant/recessive genes.

To me though, breeding for colour is not welcomed.

Agreed. Very complex. You have to take into account dominant and recessive genes, as well as possible litter sizes and health defects within the litter.

The colours of the pups won't be inherited solely from the colour of the parents so it's hard to be totally sure.

Breeding isn't just as straightforward as it may seem.

If you are talking about Miniature Bull Terriers, then you'll get a different response than with Staffords.

All White Bull Terriers (including minis) carry a colour. It may be brindle, red or tricolour, but it will be there. If you breed two white minis you will get white pups, with possible head markings (ears or face/neck) of the colour they carry.

However, it isn't advisable to breed two whites unless you are absolutely certain that neither parent have any degree of hearing loss. Even then, you chance producing one or more deaf pups.

Much better to stick with a white x colour mating.

Ive seen some very interesting colours on some dogs on here. I would be happy with any colour myself as long as the dog is fit and healthy

Thanks for your inputs. And dont worry, Im not breeding for color specific, I find them all pretty. I just hope I dont offend you if I say Im looking for a white or bringe. Im still in process of finding a good breeder here in Canada.
