Noisy staffy Empty Noisy staffy

Post by Sazzle Mon Mar 04 2013, 13:27

This morning a couple were walking towards us and daisy as usual put on her cutest pose, ears back, tail wagging, to get their attention!! They ask if they can fuss her and I warn them she is lively but ok, so they're fussing and saying how lovely she is then the lady says 'what's that noise she's making?' !!! so I have to explain she is very vocal and is just her snorting!! Well I have to say it made my Monday morning, keep chuckling and smiling to myself!! :lol

They are very vocal animals indeed lol.

I'd swear sometimes Logan is speaking back to me when I rabble away talking to him...I need to get out more.

Ledger is always snuffling and grunting when he is happy, met an extremely hyperactive lurcher type pup the other day who's owner couldn't control him she said something to me about having to get a second dog to calm the one she has down and preceded to coo over Ledger and put her hand up above his head he jumped up to give paw at her hand and did his piggy snuffle. Well she screamed "oh my god he growled at me" and dragged her dog away saying "we'd better get out of here" Laughing

It's a shame Loki doesn't have this trait Sad the most I can hope for is that he growls when we play, but that's not as funny as all the weird noises they make. He makes a load of noise when he wants attention to make sure we haven't forgotten about him though Rolling Eyes

Alfie is the first dog I've personally owned and I actually asked the vet about the noise he makes when excited!

She said it was perfectly normal and yesterday morning we saw a guy ahead of us on his walk with his staffy the wee thing spotted something in the woods and let out a similar high pitched squeal. Laughing

Made me feel a bit better knowing that Alfie isn't alone with his weird sounds. Laughing

Well we've just got back from training class and had more comments about her strange noises!! Also is it always so hard to teach a staffy to lay down?

It took me a while with Logan if I'm honest. He just kept licking my hand as I directed him down at the start lol.

I got there but it took a while and he doesn't do it every time.

He does it when he's getting fed and when he's done something bad everytime. But some other times he can't be bothered, the wee scoundrel!

I'm no dog trainer though. I can only do the basics.
