Introducting Holly aka Betty (pic heavy)
OMG I am in love...totally knackering day and I can't wait for the rest of our lives together !!
As the title suggests, it turns out that no one actually likes Betty and they were all going along with it to please me ...anyway I have been outvoted 4 to 1 and we now have a Holly I am not convinced but I won't let her know that
Breeder was amazing and I have so much advice and information, toys, bowls, food. Wasn't hard for us to pick, she totally stood out to us.
She was a dream in the car , loved exploring our house, keeps rolling over for tummy tickles, bnot eating much and Mummy is getting worried already and is about to make scrambled eggs with cheese despite knowing she will eat if she is hungry , had a few wees outside and a couple inside too...all the normal stuff ...the family adore her and my son is so good with her. No nipping yet, not even a hint ...but am sure that will come !! She is fast asleep as I type.
Here she is our little sweetheart
She loves it outside

Oh she has gone back to sleep now
Yes Mat, she has no white on her. I thought they all had a little somewhere but not her.
She is quite a solid little girl and has such a sweet little temperament...mind you it is only day 1

Yeah Steve, she has some brindle in her when the light hits her, so I think she will become more brindle as she gets older

Re: Introducting Holly aka Betty (pic heavy)
Holly was fantastic last night . I suspect the stressful day tired her out. I popped her in her crate / den at 11pm and she didn't wake up until 6am .
She cried at the door and I let her straight out for her wee... She knew where her little dish was and tried to pull my dressing gown whilst I made her breakfast
she wolfed down her food and is now on my knee . Everyone else is still in bed:0
I promise I won't be updating her every move
We are going to carry her round the block today so she can see her neighbourhood , she also has her grandma and grandad coming to visit !
Really hit me last night how much I missed having a dog and I told Holly all about our Taz

I can't believe I missed this topic . YAY, PUPPY!
She's absolutely adorable, you all must be over the moon I think it took Loki a few days before the nipping started. He was an absolute angel the first few days. Ah, bet you're all loving the company of a lovely little puppy.

Re: Introducting Holly aka Betty (pic heavy)
OMG she is a 100% little stunner and takes me back 2 1/2 years to when we got Tilly , though have to say on the score of Tanks Tilly may have been a little armoured personnel carrier and Holly is a Challenger . In love again
So the onus is on you now not to let us down and go dissapearing now you've got her , by default you have a forum baby and we need to see her grow up. My OH eyes lit up when she saw her
On the score of Black / Brindle I do believe it is impossible to have a solid black dog though Tilly has just little flecks of brindle here and there which haven't changed massively since she was a baby.
But congrats anyway great to see her little character is coming out already , word of warning though make sure you don't post your address on here as I might be inclined to borrow her for a few years

Re: Introducting Holly aka Betty (pic heavy)
Thanks do much guys , it's so nice of you to say so and now I don't feel bad posting lots of pics of her
she is getting confident now and loves being outside , I stood out with her for 30 min just before whilst she ran around after a leaf and ran to me for tummy tickles.... Then she ran back inside a did a big wee... Whoops!!
She has been weaned on half raw half fish for dogs and she doesn't like the dried food at all really.... Think I will look into raw more because she went mad for her chicken wings
I will certainly be sticking around and posting lots of pictures as she grows , I love it here with all you staffy folk !

Re: Introducting Holly aka Betty (pic heavy)
I'd put a super light weight collar on her for a small amount of time each day (fully supervised) right away.
I had Logan with a collar on before he even got into my house when I first got him. But only for half an hour or so at the start.

Bare in mind though this time next week she'll have grown a lot. So just buy cheap collars from poundshops etc. Logan went through a collar every couple of weeks.

Re: Introducting Holly aka Betty (pic heavy)
I have a little pink clip on thing that extends but I think it's a bit too heavy ... I will get her a lighter one tomorrow from the pound shop:)

Initially Tommy always had a collar on apart from in his cage as the breeder had done it like this to identify them but only just a light puppy collar from PAH , it will help so much when it comes to walkies if you get her used to it now. For us we still had Tilly's old stuff so he moved on to a hand me down harness and collar and then moved onto his own which he still has now

I have put the little clip on collar on and she doesn't mind it too much... Looks smart too. Another thing to take a pic of !

Re: Introducting Holly aka Betty (pic heavy)
Hi thanks for asking Mat
It is going great !
She has really coming out of her shell now and is always running up for snuggles and loves playing with her toys She also runs around the house getting into mischief and pinching slippers etc she also follows me around and pulls on my pants...she is sensitive so a No in the right tone is more than enough .
She is only a nipping a wee bit and I am taking her outside regular although still accidents inside too.
I have got her a little cat collar (without bell) and it is just nice on her although she hates it.
We have been walking out round the block with her and she has been carried to the school at finishing time for socialisation.
She loves the garden and sometimes plays rather than wees when I go out with her ....perhaps I should be just staying out there for 5 mins and if she doesn't wee then come back in?
She doesn't cry at night at all and I have been getting up at 6am with her . She wees in her crate but hubby made a little partition so it is just on the paper and sometimes on her teddy.
I do worry I am spoling her a wee bit because she sits on my knee whilst I answer e mails.
She is having her first injection this afternoon so will see what the vet thinks of her.
She met my brothers dog and I expected her to be scared but oh no she was very confident with him.
I am so so pleased with her.
Pics are on hubbys phone so when he comes back tonight I will put some more on

Re: Introducting Holly aka Betty (pic heavy)
Sounds like everything is going great then, glad to hear it! You are doing everything right, especially the bringing her to the school etc. This will really help you in a few months, and at this age they learn things very, very quickly.
When toilet training I always made a point of saying "right Logan, toilet" and taking him out and standing there until he went, although it never took long lol! Then I made a massive fuss and said silly things like "good toilet!" because he knew that "good" was positive and he knew grew to know going outside was the thing to do.
Can't wait to see more pics, she's one of the most beautiful pups.

Aw thanks Mat, kind of you to say so !!
At the moment, she sees going outside as playtime so I am making it less exciting for her...I stand there without talking and every so often say 'do your wee wee' if she does one I make a big fuss of her and she loves this ...neighbours probably think I am bonkers
