About flippin time!!!!!!!!!! At last our breed will be rated on behaviour along with every other breed instead of the stereotypical "Bull Terrier"

That is a big improvement on the latest legislation but trust them to wait till there are massive cuts to services and councils

Re: New dog asbo in Scotland
i'll be astounded if it makes any diff other than perhaps an influx of reports of unruley dogs ,,,, i mean people still cross the road to avoid my two , imagine if my dogs barked at them , would i get an asbo because of a complete over reaction .
in no way is this rule going to protect joe public from dangerous dogs .
stiffer penaltys for the owners doesnt stop little jane from having her face ripped off by the pet akita
i think anyone owning any breed of dog should have to have trained it and passed a test then be givin a liscense ,, if you cant produce it on request you lose the dog .
all comes back to money though , it would take the police to enforce it and thats never going to happen .

I agree in principal, but in practice I don't think it will work. If people flout the law now, they'll carry on doing it. It would be very difficult to root out everyone who doesn't have a 'trained dog' licence. Also, what about people who can't afford the training & the licence? Perfectly responsible people who crave a dog's company such as the elderly or disabled? Would they be given the lessons & licence free? I doubt it.
