Lol sorry for all the questions, max as we speak is eating a lamb leg bone.. I don't wana seem all paranoid but want to make of something, basically it seems the bone is breaking into pieces as he bites the bone, they look quite sharp to be fair, is he okay to keep eating it?
And it hasn't been cooked Smile

It should be fine as long as the bone is fresh & raw.

If you're concerned, then just pick up any small pieces.

My two eat whole lamb legs (with fur, hoof etc) alot as they are really cheap. The bone is rather soft and is easy for them to eat Smile

Yep, he may of ate it a little too quick, rolled around after eating as he does and then was sick, but then started rolling around again. He seems pretty normal Smile

Question is, should I keep giving him stuff like that, lamb bones etc, he won't get it everyday.
Just wondering if he was sick because of a, eating to quick - b, maybe his digestion needs to get use to it.

I've not overloaded him with new things, just adding bits at a time

He use to as a treat usually get raw hide, but I never let him eat the bone.
So this bone really is his first eating it all.
Not sure if my family members ever gave him bone whilst I wasn't there, but as far as I know, nope, never ate bones.
Oh apart from chicken wings lol but he's doing well with those Smile

Do you have a Morrisons supermarket near you? If so, you may be able to get hold of sections of lambs spine. This bone is only about 6" long and is quite soft. It's a good way of introducing bones other than chicken wings.

A morrisons has just opened here Smile, we'll have a look at the weekend, ill just stick to liver ( which he hate frozen by the way lol ) , kidneys, heart, minced lamb, turkey, beef etc or I could maybe cute the other leg bone in half and give him that in a few days time? Wouldn't be so much to digest would it?

Keep the amounts of liver/kidneys small as offal is very rich.

If you're using raw meat/bones as treats then just small amounts of everything you listed are fine.

If you're going to feed a raw diet completely, then bones are essential.

I give Logan things like that from time to time. But he tends to eat things very fast and doesn't seem to chew a lot of the time!

I have to keep an eye on him. Even though the bone itself will most likely not cause him harm, eating very fast etc just makes him sick.

Max eats things quick and gets sick but if he gets it on a regular basis he calms down on eating it.
He's like that with a lot of things to be honest.

I know people say " no " to bananas but max gets one once a week.
My cat is an indoor cat so has a tray.. And max kept going at it sick which made him sick loads,
And giving him a banana once a week completely stopped it and stopped him going for the litter tray, the vet said give him one a couple times a week but that's too much for his tummy!

We're sorting the spare room out so we could put a chest freezer in there and put Max's food in it, at the moment he has a section of the freezer we currently have so were kinda limited on getting a big bulk of frozen food for him.
I don't know where OH stands on whole prey, but I don't think he's up for that..... Yet. He already screws his face on giving dog raw liver and hearts and stuff, and I thought I was easily freaked out!
Yet he can watch really gorey horros films and I wouldn't lol Straight Face
Men are very strange!
