Specific words
This is just random
Does anyone have specific words for your dogs dogs for breakfast, dinner, walks etc??
We can't " dinner " in the house or Max goes loopy
If we say " bed times or nap time " he goes straight upstairs into his bed and hides himself hehe
If we say " where's Keith? " he'll go and find him
My mums dog Lya who's a staffi, if you say " wooki " she'll make the noise chewbaka or how ever you spell it in Star Wars lol
Doesn't have to be specific words you use all the time, just words that might get your doglits excited etc lol
Couple of other things probably, but their main ones that get max exited lol

Re: Specific words
A wooki dog, never thought I'd see the day.
Well, Lizzy gets pretty damn excited if you say "dinner", "breakfast", "food" or "cake" Don't ask me about the cake...I have no idea.
She also came to us with a love of "walkies" And since then she's developed a love for "Right..." and "Do you want to..."
She's also a fan of bedtime, but definitely not the garden. If it's gone 10pm and you ask her to go outside, she likes to skip that and go straight to bed.
Roger gets excited by anything xD
My sisters dog, Frank likes to find people. So far he knows five people, but his favourite is DanDan.

Re: Specific words
Other than commands, Steff knows what I mean in the mornings when I tell her "go wake your kid up", she runs and jumps on Dylans bed and licks his face to wake him up and if I say "wanna go to the park?" she goes and sits at the front door and waits for me

Re: Specific words
Haha yeah max knows the " where's mummy? Where's daddy? " funny enough my mums dogs never do that apart from her old dog Lya, or get excited about certain words, she has 3 GSD's

The worst one you can say is 'weres daddy' or 'is daddy hear' and he will tare around the house looking for him and jumping up at the window waiting for the van to pull up!

Re: Specific words
Nope. Loki seems to know when I'm talking to him or someone else, because I can have him sitting in front of me and say the word "paw" (or anything else) and he won't do it because he'll know I'm talking to someone else. So he never reacts to anything unless it's said to him, which is weird because it's not even my tone of voice, you could probably whisper a word to him and he'd know what you mean

Re: Specific words
I cant even type the W word because Rocky will read it then start running around like a crazy frog. Boots is another one as in putting your boots on for the W word. Harness used to be one but not much recently, again putting your harness on for ................

Re: Specific words
Ebony loves the words beans - I'm not even sure why! She knows all her commands and what not; her favorite words are walkies, din dins & sweeties and she cries and shakes if I say "ebony, can I ask you a question please?" Or "do you..." As she knows it usually follows one of the above! she also does a weird prancy dance kinda thing when I say "watchya doing puppy" when she doesn't know I'm watching her in the garden! I'm a sneaky mommy

Max gets told to go " pee pee and poo poo " when let out
All I gotta do is pick up his lead and he's practically dancing everywhere lol

Almost all of Suki's key words are in Japanese so I'm pretty safe in the house

Re: Specific words
Dempsey's are:
Whozat - he'll start looking around with his tail wagging madly, searching for a family member.
Whassthis - he'll look at you as if you've stung him, and then sniff your hand, waiting for you to give him a toy or a treat.
Walk/Walkies/Come for a walk! - Walky time. If he wants to go, he'll go silly and dash to the stairs. If he doesn't, he'll take his nose out from under his paws, open his eyes sleepily and glare at you.
Which hand - he'll poke your hand with his nose to find a treat.

Re: Specific words
Harry knows all his command words and things like din dins and wee wees. Also knows wheres my shoes .
But I didn't realise that I have the habit of saying "right then" until I noticed him getting excited last time I said it as these words always come before me saying now we will do .......
They are such clever little articles.

Re: Specific words
Not really specific words, other than for commands. I tend to talk to Logan like a normal person. When I casually chat to him on walks etc he pays complete attention to me.
Looks stupid, but can be very helpful.

I'm always chatting away to Rocky too when we are out on walks, people must think I'm completely bonkers
