What have i done!!!!!

It has always been in our plan to eventually have 2 staffords. We have Logan (my boy Love Struck

) but i want him to have a friend. So i've emailed the lady from the North East Staffy rescue asking if she would consider us suitable to rescue a young female staffy. She has asked about us and our current situation etc and is going to do a home visit to check if Logan would accept another Stafford.

There is no doubt in my mind Logan will be fine, as he is young himself all he wants to do is play every dog he meets! Although it could be different when its in his territory!!

im keeping my fingers crossed!!

Good for you.
I would love another staffy for Blue.
But I changed my mind and decided to train Blue first and get him better with other dogs then I will probably look into doing the same myself

Well done you!!!!! I have 2 and they are great together one of each. My girl was 4 when I got the boy and they have never had a crossed word they do everything together I would advise you to get another. You will also learn a lot when you have 2 they are constantly doggy interacting and speaking there language. Im glad you are rescuing through stafford rescue they do a amazing job with limited funds and will make sure the rescue suits your homelife and Logan. When 1 dog gets re-homed thats room for another. So fingers crossed your homecheck goes okay and will look forward to lots of stories and photos good luck

thanks guys. we were going to wait until Logan was a bit older, but we took him for a long walk around the reservoir yesterday and he was so amazing with the dogs he met! I want to him have a doggy friend and i couldnt wait!!

how old is the bitch your getting? Ty was 8 months when we got 11 week old kaos and im sooo glad we did but my god prepare for some serious constant play time! haha x

We haven't found one yet. I'm hoping after the home check and meeting us they will put us on a waiting list, so if they have a pup that needs a home (and a big brother) they'll give us a shout.
When we took Logan out for his walk we met next doors black lab and all he wanted to do was play!
Logan is lucky as he has the dining room as his play room, and I'm sure he won't mind sharing! I'm getting all excited now just at the thought of Logan having a sister! We saw a pup who was 16 wks old so I called today but she was rehomed yesterday!!
Hopefully the lady from the north east rescue will be in touch today after her show.

We did think about that. We decided it might not be very fair on an older dog to have a puppy all over it.

I've been looking at older females but haven't found any on the sites that can live with other dogs or kids. My nieces and nephew visit regularly.

Spoke to the rescue centre today. she is 7 months old,crate trained, house trained, loves other dogs,can get a bit 'chewy'and a little jumpy. she is coming for a visit on Friday to see if she gets on with Logan and the rescue volunteer is going to do the home check at the same time!!! If it all goes well, she will be with us for the weekend on a 'trial run'.

oh no..... we've had a little set back and we now have to wait till Tuesday before we can meet Georgie. She was playing with about 8 dogs today and one of them managed to bite a little bit of her ear off!! Not fighting, just over zealous playing. So she been in the vets and has to wear a lamp shade on her head as shes had stitches in her ear. The rescue dont want to do an introduction with Logan whilst she it still wearing it as they understandably want to to go perfect and the last thing they want to do is scare Logan . She was so apologetic, but i told her were not going anyway but now as Georgie has a bit missing do we get a discount on the adoption fee!! Laughing

So we have to wait until Tuesday now!! booooooooo!!! i'm gutted, but still sooooo excited. Im going to take Tuesday and Wednesday off work now!!

i'm gutted cos i played hell at work to get the afternoon off work. They finally agreed today and now i will have to go in tomorrow and say 'erm..thanks for that but it doesn't matter now!!!

thanks everyone!! House is all tidy (although i dont know why, they'll wreck it again soon enough!!) for the home check.

She should be arriving about 1130 so i'm going to meet them and take them to the dog walking area first so they can have a sniff and play/fight (whichever one will happen!!) and then bring her into the house and see how she does!!

Logans excited!! he knows something is happening today but not sure what!!
