Finally some good news
This was copied from a facebook page that I follow call Dogs on Trial..
BABY was finally reunited with her owner David today. We all went along to collect her. As mentioned before, Baby (Rapta) had been impounded for 15 months, and David had not been allowed to visit her the whole time. Finally, after a VCAT hearing, and then a Supreme Court Appeal, Baby is allowed to go home.
Baby was held at the RSPCA. While collecting her, the person doing her paperwork mentioned that David was very LUCKY!!
I don't think there is anything LUCKY about having your dog taken from you, locked up for 15 months, laws threatening to kill your dog, and not being allowed to visit, all because of the dog's appearance. There was nothing lucky about the whole story. Baby is free because of a lot of hard work, money and the Supreme court appeal. I would not wish that sort of luck on any owner and dog.
This same person also mentioned what a lovely dog Baby is. It is amazing how different people seem to see a situation. He was also told to make sure his rego is always up to date or he could end up in the same situation again. Well, that won't happen. Baby is not a restricted breed. Again, where do these people get these ideas!
So, here are some photos and videos of Baby and David today, just after they were reunited.
Hopefully you wont' mind, but there will be quite a few photos being added, as we are all so happy that Baby is finally home where she belongs. I hope that David and Baby have a very long and happy life together. They both deserve it. This has been a very long and drawn out saga that should never have happened. Baby was the first dog to appeal to the Supreme Court of Victoria regarding the current restricted breed legislation. Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported along the way. And thank you to David, for allowing us to share the moments with him today, when he was finally reunited with his lovely girl, Baby. She is a fantastic dog, and should never have had 15 months of her life taken away from her because of this unjust, cruel legislation that we have in Victoria.
As soon as Baby was released, we took her running, swimming, and one of her favourite things, chewing sticks.

Re: Finally some good news
15 months without your dog, heart-breaking so glad it had a happy outcome in the end though.
