Dog poop and anger, with pics!

Grrrr very annoyed, (week story made short).

I take Moo to a certain green which is small (leads to bigger) but suits us for toilets before work or at night.

For the last week there has been dog crap everywhere it is disgusting. Cleared up 8 only 2 days ago! Trod in it whilst doing it! Cleared another 5, spoken to the park wardens (who know its not us but what can they do?)

So taken it to leave a msg. The bags of crap are what I cleaned up tonight but this has been an ongoing thing for last 2 weeks;

Why are people so disgusting

Janey I wish others were like you responsible and caring, it is so disgusting and ruins a good walk. Lets hope the sign works but I am sad to say these people probably can't read. Good luck with trying to educate them x

It's terrible that people should even need telling ... Good for you though ! I hope it embarasses them enough to start picking it up !

Until last year there was a sign on a tree on a local dog-walk that said "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A POO FAIRY"

The poo-fairy works fairly well around here, but there will always be one or two who are careless (or squeamish, god bless their little cotton socks)

It is totally disgusting, I would hate to think what it would be like if I hadn't been clearing it up for the last week. Makes me very angry. Just wish I could catch them. Its a lovely bit of land in a town where people go to read in lunch breaks. Scum scum scum. Fuming with it tbh.

Set up a videocamera and catch them in the act

Good of you to clean it up despite it not being your problem, but I really hope the people responsible decide to actually bother.

What are the council doing about it? Is there a town paper you could point the problem out in? It's such a shame to think people sitting eating,children walking, they would scream blue murder if dogs got banned off there

We have the exact same problem down our way, Maggie actually slid in two lots of poop while playing catch in the park It is absolutely disgusting and I know exactly how you feel. I've reported mine to the council, but doesn't look like anythings going to happen. Hope your signs shame the people into doing what should come naturally after their dog has been to the toilet.

it is disgusting that some dog owners just let their dogs crap wherever. We used to take ours to the local foreshore on their long training leads but the full feild is just covered in crap it gets on their leads then we have to coil the leads up afterwards not good at all

Drives me mad when people don't pick up after their dogs. there are a couple of places I go that have no bins along the route so I bag up and hide it and pick my bag up on the way back to put in the bin. nothing worse than carrying a poop bag along the entire walk!

Well I'm not going to hold my breath but there where no new turds there this morning, god it looked a mess though with all the bags scattered!

We always clean up after Rocky and I cannot stand to see the mess left by others. I know I couldn't clear up others mess though and dont see why I should, so good on you for doing it Janey. If you have a dog it is your responsibility to clear up after them and not expect others to do it for you.

We have a big problem with some dog owners leaving it around in our local park it is a real mess now. I now take Rocky somewhere else for his walks to avoid treading in it every day.

I hope the sign works sounds like they may be already getting the hint, fingers crossed anyway.

Great idea Janey, hopefully it will make at least some of them pick up. It's pretty bad here as well, makes me mad.

think you have done right janey!!! its disgusting!! plus greens round hear have alot of children playing in summer on them as sure if they had kidsw and there kids stood in it there would be uproar!!!!

when i do the school run theres a narrow path we walk up which is a popular route to school and there was the biggest pile i have ever seen right in the middle of the walk way!!

I hate it when people dont clean up after there dogs as well, not only is it a hazard and a mess it get's us all tarred with the same brush.

and Chiara, get a coat with big pockets as a fresh bag makes a right nice handwarmer in the cold weather weve been having. just dont forget its in there before you nip to the shops

lol, not too sure I could use them as hand warmers!! Luckily our local park is ok, most owners pick up and plenty of bins around. The estate I live on though is awful with many irresponsible owners I truly hate having to clean my childrren's shoes if they don't happen to see it!

What's worse here though is broken glass! Lads standing drinking then breaking the bottles all over the pathways.

We get broken glass here too Just 5 minutes over the hill though is a lovely private estate, nice houses, beautiful gardens, no litter and no glass!! Guess where I prefer to walk!!

It makes me so angry. I live in a very nice area and have never seen this, its deliberate if that makes sense. Just scummers who let us all down. Just wish I could catch them at it.

I printed 8 signs and will continue to put them back up.

Oh dear Janey. Well, the signs may have been taken off by the local hooligans, or possibly even the council not liking you to deface their trees! I can't imagine that anyone too lazy to clear up after their own dog would go to the trouble of taking off your notices and taking them away.

But some people are weird. I know my own big tough son can't stomach the idea of picking up after his own beloved dog. I've shown him how to do it - absolutely no danger of any contamination of his dainty digits - but no, he's too squeamish, for heavens sake. Fortunately he's also too bone idle to walk his own dog anyway except once in a blue moon, so Kuchar's deposits are 99.99% cleared up by muggins.

Anyway, that doesn't help your crusade and I admire you for it Janey. However, you can be sure that when the lunchers and playing children appear again with the approaching Spring, complaints WILL be made to the local papers and your council.

Its the same in the park behind me, about a year ago the council went round and sprayed all the orange with sprayed signs saying to pick up on the path it makes no difference though. It has been lovely the last couple of days as all the paths were treated to the heavy duty vacuum van thing so there is no glass about and Ive heard from other dog owners that the community wardens are going to be out and about as a priority and fining those that aren't picking up

Well the sign had been removed last night so I put it back up! There was no sign again today and a big dollop but in fairness I couldn't tell you how old it was, so maybe working maybe not! Xx (god I feel like a poo inspector!)

I only ask because there was a bag of poop tied to the kissing gate we went through this morning, obviously been there all night and (sorry not how it sounds) made me think of you lets just hope it's shame that is making them take down the signs

Just been back up, no new poo, cleaned the one up from this morning and put a new sign back up , maybe just maybe I have got the message across, all I know is you don't achieve anything sitting on your *.

They tried the same campaign here a while back! It never worked. One must make a stand

You are quite right Janey, if nobody ever does anything about it nothing will get done. You could also try contacting the local dog warden to see what they have to say for themselves. I'm sure they must have something to do with implementing any laws regarding this problem. Just drop them an email telling them where the problem is.

ugh i feel your pain, my sister refuses to pickup after her mini dach in our own yard. makes training sessions with Marley an absolute frustration, as in the middle of training she darts for those invisible turds, total distraction. and also i am so sick of digging poop out of marleys mouth UGH. getting angry all over again. i told my mom if she doesnt pickup after that dog, i will start to put the turds in her room.

It is just part of owning a dog, its not difficult!

As a lot of you know, I often take Dempsey to work with me & sometimes I take him across to the boss's house to play with his GSD Pneuma. My boss clears up the dog poo in his garden about once a month!

It's absolutely disgusting! You have to walk through the garden with your eyes scanning the ground so you don't step in it!

i know what you mean, i was in complete shock when i found poo trampled in the doorway at tesco the other day and i have lost count on the amount of times i have seen people walking their dogs seeing them doing a number 2 and then walking away. Once i even shouted at one person and handed them a bag to pick it up and they just looked at me and walked on. ggggrrrrggghh !!! I however havent had the need to pick up others droppings unless it is right next to the bin (Yep they were even that lazy once) so fair play to you for doing it but you shouldnt have to !!!
