I am a huge fan of the show QI and know facts that I have absolutely no use for at all

QI is one of my favourite TV shows too, interesting fact - Michael Palin was going to be the host of the show.

Not enough room to swing a cat has nothing to do with swinging cats 
, It's about not having room to whip someone with a cat o'nine tails on old sailing ships which was kept in a bag which led to the saying Letting the cat out of the bag too, and also getting down to the nitty gritty was cleaning of slave waste on ships
