Lamb Bones!
Been to my local butchers today for the first time since moving to my new house, and the butcher gave me a big bag of lamb bones for Tia for free said I can each week n get a bag! She absolutely loved it! sat for half an hour and ate the lot. She's not on a raw diet just dry food, but will one bone a day be ok for her? (as in lamb bone!)

Re: Lamb Bones!
Bacchus loves them but I find any more than half a leg bone makes him a bit constipated. He's not on a raw diet either.

Re: Lamb Bones!
A good butcher is great to have. My local butcher is great too
Raw bones are great for them, I have to be careful though with Logan as he is stupid enough to swallow things whole.

My old dog lady loved lamb bones! They are good for them! So no problem at all! Although chicken bones are a no go!! They splinter and can cut there throats, mouths etc! stick to the free lamb bones! I'm going to have a word with the local butcher X

Raw chicken bones aren't a problem. They won't do any harm but cooked ones are a definite no no.

Re: Lamb Bones!
Yeah he said that to me about chicken bones, he must know what he's talking about! Don't know why I didn't go sooner, he usually has beef bones but a local man buys them all off him as he runs a kennel nice to have some nice decent people about not often U get freebies, he complimented on Tia too, said she was a lovely looking staffy

Re: Lamb Bones!
I wouldn't give one a day unless you're switching to a completely raw diet - she'll get constipated! two or three a wekk would be fine, though!
Raw chicken wings/thighs/carcasses are fine. The bones are very bendy & don't splinter - they are very easily disolved in the stomach acid.
Cooked chicken bones, in fact cooked bones of any sort, are a complete no-no!

Re: Lamb Bones!
Lamb can be a bit strong for them unless they're used to it; I used to give Loki lamb hearts for breakfast and he seemed to have a few problems afterwards, so with the lamb bones, I think maybe not everyday if she's not used to it.
As for chicken, it's only cooked bones that'll do that. I give Loki chicken wings often and he crunches them up with delight
