Both mine are chipped so in the respect of them going missing its a good idea but the picture of the dog used is the same old vicious dog again

I agree, I think it is a good idea if they go missing, and it's not really much of a big deal if it gets people to shut up for a while.

Regarding the picture, that's the Daily Mail for ya, using the same two pictures for every article they publish on 'dangerous dogs'.

Solly is chipped. The new microchip law is NOT for dangerous dogs, it is for all dogs, so that their owners can be identified, and there in lies the problem. When a chipped dog changes hands will the new owners realise that they have to re register their dog? But all in all I agree with the chip.

Step in the right direction I think, but that means any dogs not chipped that are picked up will automatically go onto death row? The microchipping sounds like a good plan but what goes with it? I'm sure this new legislation has been developed to crack down on strays and unwanted dogs as well as DDA. I expect there will be different procedures put in place for rescues etc linked to this. and the Dangerous Dog's Act will follow as I'm sure they are going to amend that soon.

My Blu is chipped, but again it will only be responsible owners who have their dogs done.

Rocky was chipped while at the rescue centre before we got him, not too sure what it will do for dangerous dogs but as already stated it will only be responsible owners that get it done anyway.

I think it's a good idea as it will make owners be more responsible, some don't bother with vaccinations or flea and worm treatments, I am all for it.
