Food issues please help

Hi new on here so would really love some help..

I have a Blue staff and she's 10 months old, She is coming out with lumps and bumps sometimes sores.. Licks her paw and is prone to ear infection.. Its not mites or fleas.

Could anyone recommend a dry and wet food she seems to like butchers tripe.

James Wellbeloved, Wainwrights, Eukanuba, Royal Canin are all very good.

Welcome, perhaps she has an allergy to something she is eating. You could always try going to a very bland diet of boiled chicken breast and white rice in order to see if that helps (it will not help if she has a poultry allergy). Many of these things can be food related as you indicate. However, other than the tripe, we don't know what you are currently feeding. What is she eating now as a regular diet?

Any hypoallergenic food will help. Butchers Tripe isn't really the way forward, there are too many additives.

Wafcol is quite a good one to try as there are no cereals & no meats that are known to cause allergies.

What has your vet said about it?

Many Thanks To you all I have tried quite a few different foods She seemed to like wainwrights but she flared up again last week and some spots were bleeding. She is fine in herself very loved good coat happy and has plenty of walks.. Vet said to keep trying different foods until she settles on one........ Going to try Ben's idea of a bland diet and Caryll's hypoallergenic after that.. Its also the wet food i struggle with as she wont touch just dry food... Sounds very like malassezia with the ear issues, has your vet mentioned this? Logan was scratching his ears alot and my vet took a swob and examined it to find a small amount of malassezia. It's a yeast infection that all dogs can have problems with, its very easy to treat but will re occur if not treated properly. Maybe you could ask your vet about it?

Wainwrights is a hypoallergenic food. Blues are a pain in the butt for skin issues or allergies (also White staffs).
It can be trial n error with finding a food to suit her. Other than that, could it be something in her general surroundings causing flareups? Toxic plants/trees/shrubs in the garden. The salt/grit used on paths n roads in winter is a known irritant to paws too (always wash them off)

Has your vet taken any samples/swabs or scrapes from her ?

I have been thru skin issues with my blue girl, and going thru similar with my pup at the mo, a lot i have found is immune system related. My 2 are fed on a raw diet daily, with added skin, coat and immune system supplements.

General rule is, feed the best u can afford, ideally hypoallergenic, high meat content food. (no grains)

No vet hasn't yet so will take her again.

Will take your advice on board and put into action.
