Solid Rubber Balls
Cairo has a solid rubber ball about 2.5 inch in size, lasted a month so far but he has now managed to get so many tooth marks in it its a struggle to get it back off him ! he is only a small staff ( 15kg ) so i reckon a ball about 4 inch would be just about big enough for him to pick up, but not so big that he cant carry it, but i cant seem to find one in that size, anyone seen any or have any ideas ?

Re: Solid Rubber Balls
I don't like rubber balls, they bounce too hard & in jumping for one a dog can get them lodged in their jaws, which can block their wind pipes. I prefer tennis balls. They don't last, but at least when they start to deteriorate you can throw them away, and if they get stuck they're quite easy to squish so you can get them out again.
I'm not saying don't use them (although I don't) but just be very careful.

Tennis balls last one throw so they are no use, Cairo never jumps for the ball, way to lazy for that lol

Re: Solid Rubber Balls
Hahaha! Dempsey doesn't chase balls at all! He looks at them as if to say "What? You threw it, you get it!".
He'll push a boomer ball around for ages, but won't touch balls outdoors. Inside, he steals my son's collection of powerballs if he can - very dangerous cause they're so small! We have to chase him round the house to get them back.
He's really well behaved, you'll notice.

Re: Solid Rubber Balls
I use the rubber one's same size as a tennis ball. Same here tennis balls last 1 throw. I throw it, he gets it, he eats it, he then comes bc to me for his next treat.
Not seen bigger hard rubber balls but boomer balls may be an alternative. Roll them to fetch

found one at 3.25 inch, so will try him with one of those, then it will be boomer balls next. he loves playing fetch the problem is he has so many tooth marks in his current ball it gets tsuck on his teeth and its a bugger to get off him !

Re: Solid Rubber Balls
I have a few of them rubber type balls (Keep it clean) and I lost one the other day playing fetch. Threw it and me Blue was looking around all confused thinking im sure I threw it here. Only thing I can think of is I threw it straight down a rabbit hole as there are a few in that field but you only see them once your foot falls in it.
If it did.........what a shot!!!!

Molly has a practice cricket ball that has lasted ages, but she's just not that interested in it any more now she has her boomer ball. She doesn't ruin rubber balls as much though, but she's just not that interested in them.

Re: Solid Rubber Balls
The only balls that I have ever had last more than a couple of weeks are the Kong Extreme ones. They are about the size of a cricket ball made of realluy strong black rubber. Think they cost about a fiver.

Re: Solid Rubber Balls
Grrr to tennis balls i hate them the fluff on them is annoying stuck in teeth, stuck in throat my dogs always gotas strip them they don't have stuffed animals either i'v heard to many horror stories, I stick to boomer balls rubber toys foot balls, basket balls they don't last longg, have them fetch it back straight away to kick it again so they don't have time to destroy and puncher it.

Holly has the Kong tennis balls with the squeeker in, they last a couple of days once she's stripped off the green stuff
She also has a leather football, which so far she's not destroyed, she loves chasing it around the garden.
Her favorite at the moment are the easy-pickup frisbees, she's just about destroyed her red one and is now on a nice new yellow one

Lola is the same.
We got a kong squeeky tennis ball, and she just sat and ripped it to pieces, I wasn't to bothered as it was only £2.00.
But going to get a boomer ball soon.

Re: Solid Rubber Balls
Took Dempsey for his usual walk over the park yesterday. About half way is a basketball court, surrounded by a sturdy rail so that dogs can't get in. BUT, it isn't very high & basket balls are often coming over onto the grass.
Yesterday one came sailing over while Dempsey was off lead.
I've got to go a buy another one this afternoon!

Re: Solid Rubber Balls
tennis balls - now woody is the extreme destoyer of all things destroyable and the cheap tennis balls from the pet shop he will destroy in minutes however we have a neighbour who plays tennis and luckily is in love with woody.Every couple of weeks he will throw a professional tennis ball oer the fence for him - now woody has only managed to destroy one in wait for it ........................12months!! i've no idea how much they cost as free to us so every now and again i'll hide them all and mention they have all gone = more non-destroyable tennis balls!
