normal puppy stage not eating?
ok so, for about 4-5 days now tia aint been eating her food, she has done so well up until now, would eat first thing in the morning then in the evening, completely demolished. her bowl is now being left with her food in it all day, ive done the whole taking it away then putting it back, and nothing, i got her new food and still no interest, i gave her some chicken, scoffed it down, is she just being fussy? is it normal coz shes growing up? or is there something else wrong? shes still pooing and peeing plenty, drinking plenty too. seems her normal self aswell.
thank you.
thank you.

I think they get bored, I would
As long as she is eating a bit and drinking I wouldn't worry. The only dog food that seems to be amazing is raw or wet. I do mix a little wet to Moo's diet as raw doesn't suit. Xx

Logan is a nightmare for going on and off his food. Someone gave me a tip ages ago to put a tablespoon of olive oil in with his dry food. It really worked. He loves the taste and tends to eat everything now. I now use it every meal.
He also gets a tin of sardines in olive oil mixed in with his dry food once a week as a treat which he loves too.

If she's eating chicken etc. I would suggest she is just being fussy. I mix in a teaspoon of Fish4 dogs Salmon Oil into Bacchus's dry twice a day, but he has never been one to refuse food except when I was experimenting with quantities when he was on 3 feeds a day and must have erred on the generous side.
BTW I now share 1 tsp between our 3 cats once a day and their coats look great.

If you put a small amount of very hot water on the food and then wait for it to cool down that works a treat with Moll. And from my point of view it smells so much more tempting than a bowl of dry biscuits!

Re: normal puppy stage not eating?
This is how marley was so we read some great advice on here about raw diets, well after sending hubby packing to our local butchers he came back with foot long sticks of meat they prepare just for dogs they contain everything we wanted to feed him but they grind it up and put it in long tubes which cost us a pound each, ive worked out it costs us about five pound a week and Marley loves it not one meal left...id def try your local butchers it has worked out cheaper for us and marley is thriving from it xx

Re: normal puppy stage not eating?
Some dogs can go off there food when there teething and she's about the right age for teething! Maybe give her some ice cubes to soothe her gums as dry food may be too sore to crunch.

Re: normal puppy stage not eating?
strange.......
my dog would eat anything, and i mean anything, he bolts it down so fast he cant possibly taste what he's eating.
then he hangs round us for left overs (which he never gets) little porker

Marley did this too, we did the olive oil and it worked for a while and we also did a gravy that my husband made out of wet dog food.
