Not sure, but we think she reacted badly to some medication. She was really old.

I'm sure she's doing her tricks in Fishy heaven already. She was well trained.
It's going to be horrible going into Aquatics without her there.

She'll be missed! She was trained and everything! We've had her for over 20 years.

Re: Rover's dead. :(
I'm not entirely sure, actually. They're probably sent up to the science labs for dissection.

I know this is a bit late Eleanor, but I'm feeling soppy tonight after adding to my own memorial post and looked at yours about Rover.
Well I just want to tell you that you are not the only one who got upset about the death of a fish! Many years ago when my son was little he brought back a goldfish he'd won at the fair. Just an ordinary goldfish but white fins and tail, and with great originality he was called Whitey. For 2 or 3 years he was just another task for Mum (cos guess who had to look after him!) but suddenly his fins and tail got longer and longer, until he was swimming around in what looked like a bridal veil - he was lovely! Well, we had our second Dobe Rio at this time, and one day I came back home to find something orange on the living-room floor, and Rio looking a bit guilty. Where did Rio find a carrot, I wondered. Oh No! Closer inspection showed Whitey, dead as a nail, with big teeth marks through him. Rio had stuck her head into the tank, caught Whitey, and fetched him out to play with!
Well I howled my eyes out.
So you are not alone Eleanor with being soppy about a fish; you are not alone!

Aww, poor Whitey.
I think all animals have their own special ways and characters, even if they are as seemingly 'dull' (though I don't think so) as fish.

Re: Rover's dead. :(
Yeah - I got over it eventually (well quite quickly really, I can only mourn for a fish for so long) and can even see the funny side now (the thought of Rio going fishing in the tank).
I hope you are now reconciled to Rover's demise. Rover and Whitey are swimming together under Rainbow Bridge!

I can imagine his face, actually. Daft dog!
Yeah, it was upsetting at first. Now it's just a bit of a shame when I go into Aquatics and Rover isn't there.
