Coverage Limits Amount?
Hello all,
I am going to purchase liability insurance for Bacon and I wanted to get people's opinions on the coverage amount. Keep in mind that I live in the US and I am quoting in US Dollars.
Just a little background - I am getting liability insurance for peace of mind. Bacon has not ever bit a person, dog, or caused me any problem. I just want to protect us from breed prejudice.
I have been offered coverage limits of $25K, $50K, $100K, and $300K for On Premises/Off Premises coverage on leash.
Thoughts on what would be sufficient?
Thanks!

Re: Coverage Limits Amount?
Yes, my insurance is £1 million too.
It seems that US coverage is less generous, so if I were you I'd go for the most coverage you can get. Hopefully you'll never need it.

1 million pounds would be near USD $800K if my mental exchange rates are correct... Seems like a lot to me considering there are home insurance policies that cover less.
I believe that the minimum landlords etc... ask for here is $100K. I'm leaning towards $300K right now. I hate insurance!!! One of those things where you are screwed if you don't have it, but when you do and something happens, they always seem to find a way to deny your claim.

I'd go for the highest, but that's purely on the basis that if he bit anyone they could sue you for a lot of money!

£1,000,000 = US$ 1,575,700
As Caryll says, go for the highest coverage you can.

*Whistles* Boy, I was just trying to see about getting a quote on pet insurance just to know what I'd be looking at.. ( for pet health though) and I can't get a quote cause the pups not 6 weeks old yet. I didn't even think about This kind of pet insurance. Got lots of notes to take.
We own our home, so will pet insurance in this aspect effect in any way our home owners insurance etc ? ( I too live in the states Nor Cal) I know for us getting a trampoline or a swimming pool changes our home owners insurance.

You can get a quote if you lie about your pup's age! Just say he's 8 weeks old - you don't have to take it up, just do a completely new one when you're ready to get him insured.
That way, at least you'll have an idea what you're looking at!
