Explain please to the thick one

Can someone please explain this "bump" to me please i see it in lots of posts and i don't know what it means

bump means nothing, the idea is that you have posted just something to put the topic to the top again

Bump usually means pushing a post up Xx so its read Xx

Exactly, also usefull for topics that are meant to go on for awhie that newer users might not have seen since no one had posted for awhile

I have seen this bump mostly when people are begging for friend requests

still do not get the 'bump' and why would people do that for friends requests?

My understanding of the Bump is say you post an alert of desease in your area and other post knock it from near the top, you just put bump and it puts it at the top where everyone sees it, and 1st time i saw bump was when people were talking about having no friends
