YAY! Breakthrough
Loki the Bone-Finder found another bone again on his walk just now while off the lead. He's still possessive, but in an "I'm going to turn my head or walk away from you instead of growl at you" way, which is...good, I suppose. I'm able to touch his head or hold a treat in my hand right next to his mouth and he'll take it, so that's where we were at with his possessiveness. Anyway, he dropped a piece of the bone (by accident, no doubt), so I took it and held it out to him so he could see it, and told him to drop the bone he had in his mouth. He dropped it! Then picked it up again then I told him to drop it again and he did, and told him to leave it and he did...then I put all the pieces of bones in my bag and gave him five treats
It's the first time he's ever willingly dropped a bone, so you can see why I'm so happy, that for the first time ever, I didn't have to forcibly remove the bone from him. Unfortunately, it proves that the only thing he values more than the bone in his mouth is another bone, so...I guess I'll have to carry a bribery-bone with me at all times, along with an extra-special treat? He's not stupid, I'll give him that but I'm still happy, progress is progress.

Bugger that if either of our 2 get something interesting in their mouth they won't come near and just dance around me in an annoying manner

Ledger is the same with his ball so I always have two with me, he even learnt to hoover up biscuits while still keeping a ball in his mouth!!! I can just about get him away from a single ball if I lead a trail of ham that goes far enough for me to get back to the ball before him
