I wanted snow but even I'm sick of it now. Not just the cold, but trying to walk a hyperactive, pulling-towards-anything-that-smells-nice-or-wags-its-tail dog on icy ground is horrendous

Re: let all hope the ice go very soon
We still have a fair few inches here on the ground, but 5 minutes drive into town and there isn't a bit of snow in sight. I have enjoyed it, well for the first day I did! Now its just lethal and day 3 without any of it melting its getting tedious now! Tinkerbell and the kids on the other hand love it, bet they won't be so keen on the school run tomorrow!
Their school is at the bottom of a steep 7 minute walk downhill.....praying the other half is back from work in time to take them

He has said he will, so we'll see. Although last 3 days its taken him an extra 2 hours to do his run in the van so doesn't look too hopeful!
Going down isn't too bad, just hold onto the railing and slide your way down! Kids think its hilarious....until they fall! Its getting back up that's pretty hard work!

Re: let all hope the ice go very soon
Lol was thinking more a case of strapping the kids to a piece of wood as a makeshift sledge and giving them a push down the hill. School is just across the road then so I could watch them go down the hill and not venture there myself........or would that be considered unethical?! Surely the 5 year old could hold onto the 3 year old ok!

Please be very careful on the ice Karen, do you have anyone you could ask to help with the kids in the morning, a neighbour perhaps ??

Re: let all hope the ice go very soon
Lol much better idea!
Kathy its only bad up here with the ice and snow, school is on the main road so as long as we can get down the hill we'll be ok. Nobody to help though as the neighbours kids all go to the school up here. We moved Hollie from that school in September to a better school. I do have a friend who lives down the road from us but she has recently had a baby so I have been taking her little one to school with us. She dropped the buggy with baby in it and fell herself last week when she picked her daughter up because of the ice so I wouldn't like to ask her to take mine. Ian has said he'll try and get back in time though and if its worse tomorrow kids will stay off school to save me going down!
