not much hope
thought i'd just share this evenings events with you all.had to give my son a lift as he was selling some thing and had to deliver it to a girl who had just moved in to her new house, her and 3 friends were waiting out side for us,all aged 20-22 may be,as we went in a staffy came out to greet us,friendly enough, then i noticed one of the girls had this fluffy little hand bag style dog,she put it down and said to her friend 'i hope your dog does'nt eat mine'!looking at the staffy eyeing it up i thought yep prob will,i told her to pick her dog up as the staffys hackles were right up.'whats their hackles, some thing to do with their nose?'she said to me!!!after explaining what they were we went in the house and the owner of the 'staffy' said 'do you think mines a full staffy'?i asked if she had papers and she didnt,'well actually she is more of a pit than a staffy'was her reply!after telling her she really should'nt go around saying that we made a hasty retreat, really left me feeling that not much hope at all

Re: not much hope
pit, staffy, poodle all born with same affection to humans. in facts pits are more human freindly than most dogs but are treated in much the same way staffies are. strong dogs so we must be scared of them.... its all crap. the ony worrying thing in your story is the human element, and there ignorance...DDA working? nope

Re: not much hope
Couldn't agree more, Pit Bulls are my second favorite breed, but you shouldn't go around saying you have a pit in an area where they are banned. I think that was Stella's point.

Agreed! Huskies and akitas are the two most nonchalant dogs i have ever worked with, in fact most kennels here won't take akitas. but theyre cute and fluffy so who cares?

Re: not much hope
The most vicous dog I ever came across was a pomeranian (I think thats how its spelled). It ran around me and the kids barking and growling. After making a lunge at the little man I had no choice but send him away like taking a penalty kick in the world cup final. It was just a fluffy noisy little aggressive b****rd. I've been around quite a few staffs and the most aggressive thing they've ever tried to do is lick my face and of the kids. Public opinion of them is so misguided.

Re: not much hope
sorry think i confused you,my point was not that the staffy x pit was dangerous, not at all just these 2 girls, one that had the hand bag type thing knew nothing about her dog and the other girl was so ready to tell a total stranger that her dog was a pit more than a staffy!

Some people need to engage brain before opening mouth. You could tell them things until you were blue in the face and they still wouldn't get it. At least you tried.
