Prejudice
Hi everyone, I've found when I've been walking darcy a mixed bag of people, but a few times & different owners have mentioned a particular bad staffie owner!!!! Who's staffie has attacked several dogs on lead in our area, apparently the owner is on a final warning. ( not sure what this means) We only walk darcy on the said walk occasionally as we drive from home to various places & canals with dog friendly pubs. But I digress my point is there sentence always starts he/she was attacked by one of them dogs you have got, this results in me educating them to say its what's at the human end of the lead not the staffie end that is the problem!!!!! My baby is not the problem, how best do I deal with negative dog owners?

Re: Prejudice
As Janey said try and educate them somewhat, the best way to handle this is to have well trained and behaved dog and be a responsible owner yourself, which I'm sure you are.. Some people are very frustrating though I had a woman with her Lab the other day scream "keep that dog away from us, my dog was attacked by one of "THOSE" I screamed back her "Keep that dog away from Me, I was attacked by on those!!" Sounds stupid and childish now but sometimes people just make me wanna scream

You will find a few negative people on your travels. Until they take the time to stop and have a fuss that usually melts them

Re: Prejudice
If the person seems interested you can try to educate. However, if they are just making nasty, blunt comments just ignore them. Be prepared for a lot of comments as she gets older.
Normally from my experience it's the middle aged people that are the worst for it. Elderly people I meet are always really nice to me and Logan and love to chat about him. Kids all think he is awesome!
Concentrate on the nice people and forget the rest. Nobody cares about their opinion anyway. Ignorance gets you nowhere.

Re: Prejudice
Smile (even though it's the 100th time you've heard that today) and try to educate.
If they won't listen, pick up the nearest heavy implement & smash them over the head with it!

Dont let them get to you, continue to be a SBT ambassador and educate those willing to listen

Re: Prejudice
As said it's the human end of the lead that is the problem, we can but try to educate them as much as we can to the ways of the Staffy.
