My first Staffy, Lady

Lady has been gone nearly 2 years and I still miss her every single day. She was 4 when she died from a freak accident. She was the perfect dog in everyway! R.I.P My Baby

That she has. As much as Scarlet and Diesel are my babies now and I love them to pieces, I can't get close to them like I was with Lady. She was the best dog ever. It was probably the horrific accident that happened that has caused me to think this way. RIP baby girl xxxx

dont worry, i know your pain more than anyone.. My boy Rosko died last January from a freak accident and I too cant get fully over it.

I'm so sorry. What happened? You obviously had a close bond - I always think staffies are very healing dogs, if you will excuse the psycho babble. Closeness to your other dogs may come in time.

She ran on to a javelin and it went straight the middle of her. She was shut in the house with a dog gate across the door and she broke through it when my neighbours kicked a ball and she ran on to a javelin. She survived the operation to remove it and was up walking around the same day, we thought that in itself was a miracle! The javelin clipped her lung and pierced her diaphragm but missed everything else. We couldn't get her to eat anything though and she started to go down hill. I slept in the vets with her over the weekend and when I went home Monday morning to have a shower etc she was very poorly and I had a phone call as soon as I walked in the door, she had died of septicaemia

How horrible for you, Shellie; not an easy thing to come to terms with.

Although you'll never forget Lady, you will come closer to your dogs - promise!
