Caryll,can you advise?
Only pointing this at you as you are local and will prob know where I mean,do you think Rutland water is to long to walk sid around?? P.s,if you don't know it I think it's about 16 miles! Obviously I would take my time and have a rest (at the pub)

Re: Caryll,can you advise?
At his age, as long as he's used to longish walks, you shouldn't have a problem. Take it easy though, and have a rest every so often, the scenery is beautiful & if you like birdwatching it's a paradise!
I don't remember a pub en route, but take a couple of cans with you!

No! Bandit used to go for really long walks on a sunday - either the city of London or Richmond Park etc, and we'd be gone for like 5 or 6 hours, solid walking. We'd get back, he'd sleep for about half an hour & then be ready to go again!

Blue is the same.
I remember I took him out for about 4 hours not long ago. Come back and put his lead on the side and went to the toilet. When I come out of the toilet I picked his lead up to put it away in his cupboard and he started going mad again thinking wohooo walkies. I thought are you having a laugh im shattered

I can never seem to wear Nero out by walking miles.. When we go to Wales onto the beaches, i always give him a few hours running up and down some rather large sand dunes, now that does usually finish him off for the day.

My uncle used to have a standard poodle and when he took him for his evening walk the dog would stop at every pub & pull him inside. At least that's what he told my aunt.
