anoying neighbours
I have read other posts about barking and how to manage it. But the thing is our neighbour complains to managment (we live in a complex of many houses) when silva barks for more then a second. So is there any suggestions how to work around this.
He barks mainly at my partner then me. We have exhausted the naughty room (almost 2 months) and it has no effect. my wife has had enough, she never was keen on a dog to start with and he is not helping the situation.
She tries the ignore him and walk away/turn your back aswell and he will start nipping aswell till he gets a reaction.
Any help would be appreciated. I feel a choice between dog and wife coming.lol

How old is he and how much exercise is he getting? Have you tried teaching him to bark on command and than teaching the quiet command?

He's about 16weeks now. I know he doesnt get enough exercise at the moment i have explained that to my wife, and to blame me not the dog. He has all his shots now, so we can finally go to dog parks. But he still likes to give my wife a stir. lol most days he gets 2 x 20min walks with little runs thrown in, and play time during day fetch and that sorta thing.
I read the post about teaching speak and stop. i mite try it when he is inside. Outside we cant because of the neighbours.
He is still young so im hoping it is still part of the terror puppy stage. He is around 16kg already, so we sometimes forget he is still a pup.

If Silva is anything like mine he will cut down barking at you over time. When I first got Logan he barked at me non stop! But he was just exploring his boundaries and generally just being a menace. Over time he has calmed this away down just through maturity (albeit, he has his spells of being a wee brat hiding under the coffee table and barking).
Try and find other outlets for the barking, it is most likely just pent up energy. Logan responds well to a filled kong, taking ages to get all the wee bits and pieces out. Or his favourite empty plastic bottle...
