Ear cancer on whites
Just watched a programme and a white cat had sores on its ear (looked like a dog/fox attack) which turned out to be cancer. They said its quite common on white cats with thin ears.
Just wondered if there was ever any canine cases of this?

Re: Ear cancer on whites
I have heard that white dogs are more prone to skin cancer so they need to be protected with sun cream in the summer months. I have also heard that they suffer from deafness more than other dogs. Not sure whether this is true. I have a white staffy so I worry a bit

I would say it is like all cancers then It may be rare to happen without sunburn but not impossible.. Just like lung cancer and non smokers, rare but it happens

Chance being all white is a worry but he has such a thick coat and well covered ears i've never put suncream on as there is no exposed skin, although we do keep a closer eye on him
