Newbie from Scotland
Hi Everyone
I'm new to the forums but have been following the page on Facebook for a wee while. I got my first staffy in June this year. She was 10 weeks old and was in the Dogs Trust pound. She was born deaf and I'm guessing that she was at risk of being put to sleep by the breeder as she was taken in by the SSPCA at 6 weeks old before being placed with Dogs Trust. I fell in love with her straight away and could not leave her there. I have had dogs before but don't think I was prepared for such a loving and affectionate wee soul. She's cheeky and she's naughty but I love her to bits. She is also very clever and has picked up the hand signals very quickly. Luckily I had done some research in to the breed before bringing her home so I had a good idea of what to expect. The deafness has not been a problem. I treat her like a hearing dog but the way I communicate with her is different. Yes, I do talk to her
It breaks my heart to see so many staffies in pounds and know that they have such a bad reputation which is entirely wrong. I'd have a house full of staffies if I could get away with it
Anyway, enough waffling from me. Have a great evening
