running age?
I've read on here somewhere that puppies shouldnt run, and that you should walk them 5mins for every month of age. I couldnt find the topic i read though. Anyhow....
I had been giving Silva a short little jog at the end of every walk, maybe 30 secs. Nothing crazy. BUt lately when we get to the last leg of the walk he grabs the lead in his mouth and wants to run ( he intiates it not me). He loves it. I have read its bad for their joints to run while they are young but should i deprive him of something he loves because of what i've read.? he is almost 15 weeks now.

Re: running age?
They tend to put on weight faster than their bodies can support for high impact activities like running on hard surfaces. It's best to wait until they are at least 12 months and preferably 18 and build up slowly.
That being said if they are running on a soft surface such as grass and off lead or with them iniating the activity it doesn't hurt. So going for a jog is a bad idea but chasing after a ball through a field isn't an issue.
