I was just as scared as you until i got one and started watching her through the night, how much hard work she put into making her home was amazing you should really watch how gentle she is with her food and cleaning up after food.

I took a wild guess at the name Chili meaning a chilean rose tarantula. But I can imagine how that could scare some people. I didn't watch it for too long myself, even though I've owned a scorpion and praying mantis, as well as currently owning a snake, spiders are still a hard limit.

We had what we thought was an Emperor Scorpion, turned out to be a Red Claw, don't trust pet shop owners....
We've also got a Royal Python, but when we move out and get more money we will expand our exotic animal collection, the list is kinda too long to go into though.

I done a study on my local pet shop for a college assignment they are quite disgusting in how they house animals and they don't know anything about the exotic animals. I asked him if he has a mexican red knee he said yeah and showed me a chilean rose which is now my chili i corrected him and he dropped the price right down he also told me that she would live the rest of her life in the container he has her in comfortably which was about 8" by 4" I couldn't believe the idiot actually got a pet shop permit.
When i get the money i hope to expand and list is endless.

Most pet shops are just in it for the money, even the main stream ones.

I've handled a tarantula, but they don't appeal to me. I like a slightly larger pet! But then, I only really ever wanted dogs & horses!

the shelves i keep my Tarantulas on are right beside my bed so when i wake up i see them both climbing about their tanks full view as well at first it crept me out but i'd rather a Tarantula on my face than a normal sized spider, or anywhere on my body really normal spider they creep and hide and you don't know their there until their in your face or soemthing tickles your neck but with Tarantulas their too heavy and their slow and placid and very cute.
Crazy watching them I added a huge lump moss to both of their tanks chili she spread it all out throughout her hide level and neatly.
Jess on the hand moved the whole lump up on top of her hide and all around it and some around her water bowl but no where else at all if i moved a piece she would grab it from my hand and pull it away from me and move it back.
