odd looking but amazing dog toys
i have started to notice a strange trend with romeos dog toys.
at the helsinki dog show i brought this for romeo, its a kong safestick for throwing ( he loves to play fetch), it wasnt until i showed some friends that they screwed up their faces and questioned what it 'actually' was
I'll admit... it looks a bit... suspisious. but romeo likes it haahaha.
they also think these other things i have for romeo are a bit weird
but they are the BEST chewing toys i have ever brought for romeo, they are almost indestructable. these are great toys i must say, the meterial is non-toxic and great for chewing. and i recomend anyone with a power chewer like romeo to get them
the brands are ORKA and KONG
and every staffie owner has one of these.

When at Pets At Home, my mum said I should get one of the Safestix, and I was like "NO," I just couldn't . I have a weird dog, Loki doesn't chew his Kong at all, he just eats from it, so I guess the chewing toys wouldn't do anything.

Bailey has one of those Safestix! If I'm taking it to the field it's hidden in my track suit pocket

Re: odd looking but amazing dog toys
Ledger loved his safestix til he figured that by biting specifically on one of the twists he could then pull it apart in pieces. We did get some strange looks as he would insist on carrying it by one end but it was the first non ball toy he really wanted to play with and they do throw really well

Re: odd looking but amazing dog toys
its also much nicer then an actual stick.... but ...yeaaaah... a little awkward..
Re: odd looking but amazing dog toys
Rocky has about 4 Kongs of varying sizes some for his food and some for treats. I have seen the Kong sticks before and I think they are a very good idea. Much better than having some very nasty mouth injuries by using a real stick.

the 'balls' on the end are supposed to stop it ever getting stuck in the ground like in freak accidents

Re: odd looking but amazing dog toys
But my stick would look just like a big sticky log. it can have rounded ends if thats what people want. it will be like a sausage stick.

I got a kong safe stick for Dempsey & although it looks a bit, um, weird, it has lasted!
Dempsey has destroyed all of these.

Hi all,
Are these expensive? They look like a good idea. Ive got a couple of the kong things for putting food in and theyre great. Tea spoon of peanut butter in there and Rosie is occupied for hours
They are a suggestive shape though lol. but they look very durable.

Re: odd looking but amazing dog toys
I bought the green one for Obi and he loves it. It never crossed my mind till I took him out a few weeks ago with my friend and her daughter and the pair of them starting laughing. I had to ask what they found so funny
Now i've been informed the stix hasn't left the house. No wonder people were giving me strange looks round the local park

I must admit that it doesn't bother me in the least - Dempsey loves his & I throw it for him in the park & he'll carry it around. I get some funny looks, but that stopped bothering me years ago!

Re: odd looking but amazing dog toys
Romeo's Orka Jack is still alive, i guess romeo is a little more caring the everyone else about it toys.
i took him out lats night with the um... sticl. it was late at night so i was safe
But he went CRAZZZY over it. he was that i was carrying it and he couldnt walk straight he kept turning and walkiing around me all excited. when we found a clearing i threw it for him and he went nuts. he was racing around and shaking it all over the place. i think he likes the fact that it bends and flexes. at the end of it he wouldnt give it back and i had to let him walk home with it in his mouth.... no one saw us
hahah power chewer dempsey.
ah see i'm lucky Caryll, the worst romeo has done to them is pull all the ropes out of his orka stick
