Re: crazy max
Well firstly you need to not let him off a lead until you get it sorted. You need to have good recall before you can let him off the lead.

Re: crazy max
As said you really need to practice your recall, otherwise, no he won't just learn his lesson. Pleased everything was ok

Re: crazy max
not so much a lesson learnt as the possibility of making him wary, as others have said you need good recall and dogs need to be introduced correctly

Re: crazy max
I think most dogs would know anothers age, so the pitbull would have realised Max was just a youngster and just gave a small nip to put him in his place.
As stated above more work on the recall or use a long training line.

Re: crazy max
Pups such as yours often have bad manners ! He's learning all the time from his experiences but as a responsible owner u must not let him off lead if he won't come bk !
It's often polite to approach dog owners to ask if ur dog can greet/play with theirs.

Re: crazy max
My tash does this and recall is brilliant most of the time but there is always that one instance when you dont see the other dog in time or tash sees them first and wont listen. I think they do tend to learn from these experiences and the other dog was probably just telling your dog to stop. It happens but if you see this dog again i would put yours on the lead and introduce them properly. Tash is learning not to jump but its a slow process and its always on the head!
