Pigs Can Fly
Has anyone read Pigs can fly, which is a training book based round bull terriers?
Its a bit American but the principals are there, I took my dogs to a behavourlist who told me Minnie has an attention span of 2 minutes then she gets bored and he suggested this book. Its great I am following it through chapter by chapter I found the training them their name handy because we call our dogs lots of nick names and I had noticed Roxannes recall wasn't as good as it used to be. After going the training with her she is spot on or there abouts, as long as there are no children about as she loves them and it goes straight through the window.

Yes I have read some of it, its clicker training based. I keep meaning to get into it more. Keep us updated on how you are getting on. I notice you have 2 girls also, I find it hard to train them at same time. Maybe I should do one at a time. What do you do?

I've got it. It didn't much help me with training because Dempsey doesn't do very well with clicker training, but it was a really good read - lets you know you're not alone!
And she does some fantastic things with her dogs!

Hi, I don't do much clicker training out of the book but the theory works. I train mine together sometimes but they are better on their own because Minnie has such a short attention span she starts to play up and distract Roxanne. Now she is another story, her willingness to please is brilliant. Trying to get her to weave my legs but Im short so not much room might invest in some poles. I have also got canine body language, it is full of really good pictures that shows dogs body language. I have found that Roxanne is the dominante one due to the body language, and we thought she was the submissive one. She is quite sly the way she does it and you wouldn't notice.

Re: Pigs Can Fly
I've got to say that the book When Pigs Fly made me laugh in places - I've also got a Bull Terrier & so much of what she says applies to him!
