Pigs trotters/ pigs ears
This is a first for me, I never thought I would see my dogs with trotters and pigs ears lol
My grandson bought them as a treat, so... do they eat everything?
Lucy who is 11 months and Franky 3 months are chewing away at them and I have peace and quiet at last but should I take then away after an hour to give their gaws a rest and maybe give them back tomorrow!
((HELP))

Re: Pigs trotters/ pigs ears
Are they raw I assume? Bug loves trotters and will eat them all in one go, but it does tend to make her need to go to the toilet quite a lot! So be careful as may give a little bit of an upset tummy!

Re: Pigs trotters/ pigs ears
Toots loves a pigs ear, though I get concerned when she's nearly finished it and it becomes this gloopy yukky soggy bit that gets stuck in her throat and she coughs back and keeps at it til it finally goes down!

Re: Pigs trotters/ pigs ears
Thanks for you replies,
My dogs loved the trotters, I don't know if I will be giving them the pigs ears yet as they look awful (gag) "think they may go in the bin"

Alfie loves the ears (not tried trotters), I try not to touch them and he has to eat them outside

Re: Pigs trotters/ pigs ears
Bane used to have raw trotters as a main meal until he got fussy! Would take him from 45 mins to devour one! Ears are gone within minutes!
I guess if they are taking an excessive amount of time to eat it, you could take it away and give as another treat tomorrow

Re: Pigs trotters/ pigs ears
I cannot see me giving pigs trotters to my dogs again as Lucy was bad with diarrhea the day after and didn't want to eat the next day either. Franky was OK but he only had a litte bit.

Re: Pigs trotters/ pigs ears
I gave Pru her first ever pigs ear a few days ago, she loved it! She was quietly munching it for over an hour.

Re: Pigs trotters/ pigs ears
My previous girlie Bree used to love pigs ears and would demolish them in about 5 mins. Very fattening tho apparently.
