Kuta & my very scary night
As you may all be aware, North Queensland in Australia experienced the worst tropical cyclone in Australia's history on Wed night/Thurs morning. They are saying it was much bigger than Katrina that wiped out New Orleans, and guess where I live..... Townsville!
It was a very scary night with wind gusts up to 280km p/h that sounded like a freight train coming down your driveway, and freaky green lightning that I never want to see again. Kuta and I stayed at my partners house for the night and we all snuggled up as we listened to the trees cracking down outside. Kuta was quite scared but we did our best to keep him calm for the night. The stronger wind started at about 5pm on wed (allthough you could tell there was something huge coming by about midday) and it was still blowing about 150km winds by 11am Thurs morning.
After returning home Thursday afternoon when we where given the all clear to go outside, I have 5 trees down and no back or side fence. Thankfully, I'm in a rental place and moving next weekend so it wont effect me so much anyway.
However, we still have no power and I only just got phone and internet back up now. Power may be out until Mon or even longer so sleeping in 30+ degree temps is terrible with no fan or aircon.
Anyway, the important thing is Kuta, myself and family are all fine. We just have a big clean up ahead of us. We were spare from the brunt of it though, a few towns north of here have nothing standing at all. I hope to never have to go through anything like it again in my lifetime, it was a horrific 24 hours.

You must have been terrified! So glad you're all safe and well. Thank goodness that we dont have anything like that over here, i'd be so scared. As you say, the most important thing is that you're all ok. Hugs to you and Kuta.

Glad you are ok.
My dad is at Airlee and he has similar damage around him,
there is another one forming off the S/islands... so that is one to watch as well
